The Stone Pillory - the Column of the Lower Capita [ Statue, sculptural group or sculpture ]

On a slope over the ditch near the road, opposite the former castle garden, there is a prismatic one-graded sockle, on which a torso of a column is fixed. An iron noose for the anchorage of a chain has been preserved on the smooth trunk. The pillory (familiarly called the execution column) commemorates the capital right of Starý Jičín, which the town was granted from the 14th century to 1729, when it was granted to Nový Jičín.
