Rychaltice [ Cadastral territory ]
Rychaltice - the fourth part of Hukvaldy - it used to be an independent municipality until 1960. Its history goes back to the beginning of the 14th century. At that time it was founded by the bishop Berthold and was named after him Bertholdesdorf, but since 1408 it is called Rychaltice. It used to belong to Hukvaldy lordship. Ctibor Syrakovský from Pěrkov, who owned the Rychaltice village for some time, sold it later even with courtyard, mill and lime-kiln to Vilém Prusinovský, the proprietor of the Hukvaldy castle. Since then Rychaltice village was under the administration of Hukvaldy lordship. From 1770 a part of the settlement called Krnalovice used to belong to Rychaltice.
Rychaltice had its own school. The first documentation about the school dates from 1580, but the school is said to have been there much earlier. The first school building was made of wood and was situated on the left side of the Ondřejnice river. In the first half of the 18th century a new school building was established, but it wasn't large enough later. The third school was situated near the church in the building no.4. In 1824 the archbishop Rudolf from Olomouc built up a new school building, it was masoned and stands there up to the present. At the beginning of this century it was reconstructed and extended. From 1948 there was also a nursery school in the same building. The classrooms were cancelled after the construction of a new large school building in Dolní Sklenov and the nursery school was moved there as well. The school building is now used by an academic painter Antonín Kroča who has got his own studio there and since 1995 also a small gallery.
